On Fridays, I (attempt to) bring the events of this past week to us in that are interesting and important to us citizens and Christians.  Enjoy!

World:  Ready or not, Sochi is now the World’s Stage.  SOCHI, Russia — Already stringent security measured appeared to tighten even further Friday in the run-up to the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics.

For the first time since spectators and media members began arriving in Sochi, entrances to Olympic Park were staffed with volunteers requiring both credentials and opening ceremony tickets to get in. Even credentialed media members were not allowed to walk through the park, where all the competition venues were built in a circle, without a ticket .http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/sochi/2014/02/06/opening-ceremony-sochi-russia-olympics-overview-united-states/5267619/

I am a “Creationist” and increasingly moving from the old-earth and toward the young-earth position so I naturally agreed with the bulk of Ham’s arguments. But I think Al Mohler’s analysis this morning nailed the real problem. The debate was really an argument between two men with irreconcilable world-views.    Read morehttp://standfirminfaith.com/?/sf/page/31113
